History of Pakistan Cricket

History of Pakistan Cricket Team is full of events and achievements.  Back in 1952, for the first time Pakistani Cricket Team appeared for the first time in International Cricket. If we look into the history of the Pakistani cricket, it is very stunning as Pakistani cricket team evolved as one of victorious team around the world.

History of Pakistan Cricket

Since partition in 1947, Pakistani cricket has seen many stages in terms of development, as most of the people encourage to develop cricket despite of national game hockey. First test match played by Pakistani team was in 1952 in the month of July, at Lords cricket ground of United Kingdom.

First test series played by Pakistani cricket team was in Delhi back in October, 1953. In this series of 5 tests India achieved 2-1 and stand victor. Later on in 1954, Pakistani cricket team visited England where the series ended up with 1-1.  This was the famous series in which Mr. Fazal took 12 wickets in famous ground of Oval.

The first home series was played at Dhaka (present day Bangladesh) in January, 1955 against India. Later on home series was played in Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, and Bahawalpur where all the matches ended up as draw.

Highlights from the history of Pakistan cricket

Australasia Cup in 1986

The Australasia Cup series took part in Sharjah, in which our national hero Javed Miadad was the reason for the victory of Pakistan against India, when our team needed 4 runs on just one ball, and he strike his bat with all his force and it was a six. It was written in the history of cricket.

World Cup success in 1992

Pakistan for the first time won the world cup in 1992. Pakistan was facing major difficulties in the start of the tournament but due to Imran Khan the former captain of the Pakistani cricket team, the players were able to play with their full force and therefore won 5 matches in one go. The final match was against England and our team took over the British rule.
