The best way to get lean quickly is to burn a lot of calories! Yes, I know, burning lots of calories is obvious. However, everybody seems to go about it in the wrong way. I’m going to tell you the right way.
But first, let’s start with the basics. To burn a single pound of fat you must expend 3,500 calories of energy. This is an awful lot of energy to rid yourself of a lonely old pound of fat. No wonder most people don’t succeed in attaining their weight loss goals. Now, most people gravitate toward long drawn out cardio exercises that last way too long. Even if you run a few miles you will only burn a couple hundred calories which doesn’t even put a dent into your fat burning.
Back in the 1990s a Japanese doctor named Tabata developed the Tabata protocol which is an approach to fat loss exercise. It is only 4 minutes long but I have heard of people losing 35 pounds in two months with it. Quite simply you will do some form of intense exercise 8 times for only 20 seconds and have a 10 second rest in between. What this does is increases your metabolism so that you are burning calories at a significantly higher rate for the rest of the day.
Now, to increase the fat burning benefits even more you will want to use a kettlebell which looks like a cannonball with a handle. Simply swing it between your legs while doing the Tabata. Kettlebells burn up to 20 calories a minute and up to 1% of body fat a week!
